Dry Pastel Still Life

From left to right.
Dry pastels work fine only when you know you can handle them. I started with sketching first but not putting in too much of white in case it does not affect the lateral colours applied. The platter in the still life was white so that is also picking white for me was the right choice. While using dry pastels I found it easier to go from light to dark shades. But theres no rule for this so you can ignore it completely:). In the end do not forget to spray fix using Winsor and Newton pastel fixative to enjoy your work for many years and chuckle at your success.
